Welcome to Part 2 of our Pelvis series: The Pelvis in Birth & Postpartum.
One of the many benefits of prenatal yoga includes how it can help the practitioner connect with their body. In this webinar, learn how the body and the pevlis adapts throughout labor, and how you as a yoga instructor can help your student connect with their body in preparation for labor, delivery and postpartum recovery. The webinar will also cover:
- Anatomy of the pelvis as it relates to birth (inlets and outlets)
- Pelvic accomoidations and changes during delivery
- Cesarean birth and the pelvis
- Diaphragmatic breath and open glottis pushing
- Postpartum healing timeline for vaginal and cesarean birth
- Postpartum exercise
- Common pelvic organ and pelvic muscle problems postpartum
This webinar is hosted by Milwaukee Prenatal Yoga Community and presented by Dr. Lauryn Beecher, PT, DPT.

Dr. Lauryn Beecher, PT, DPT is a pelvic health physical therapist, owner of Pelvic Health and Wellness Physical Therapy, and registered yoga teacher. Lauryn works with people of all ages and genders, including individuals who are pregnant and postpartum, with pelvic pain, incontinence, diastasis recti, constipation, and prolapse. She places a high priority in meeting each client's unique needs to help them get back to doing what they love. She utilizes her background as a yoga teacher to help her clients connect with and feel confident in their bodies.
This is event is part 2 of our two part series on the pelvis during pregnancy, birth and postparum. Attendees can also earn 1.5 CEC for Yoga Alliance.
